Learn new skills and refine your fishing technique with the Northwest's top anglers at this exciting, two-day Northwest Fishing Seminar at the Ikea Performing Arts Center in Renton, WA on Saturday & Sunday March 24th and 25th, 2007.

This two-day class will teach you how to catch salmon, halibut, bottom fish and tuna in salt water. It will also teach you how to fish the Columbia River for Spring and Fall Chinook and the Lake Chelan area for Lakers and Giant Rainbow. It will give you a chance to get up close and personal with the Northwest's most respected fishermen. Not only will you have the opportunity to participate in classes with the instructors but you will also have ample time to go one-on-one with the SU instructors to discuss your favorite fishing areas.

Tom Nelson

With thousands of hours fishing Washington and Canada Tom is known as the dean of saltwater fishing. He is the leading expert on Puget Sound salmon fishing with a downrigger.

Capt. Rob Endsley

Rob is charter boat Captain in Craig Alaska & NW River guide. He hosts SteelheadUniversity.com and Fisherman’s Heaven TV show.

Terry is the youth Sportfishing coordinator for Washington’s Department of Fish and Wildlife and co-authored How to Catch Trophy Halibut, the complete guide to recreational halibut fishing along the entire West Coast.  Terry has authored over 3,000 articles for various fishing publications.

Ray Gombiski

Ray is the manager of the North River Boat Factory Store in Sumner Washington.  Ray grew up in the Snoqualmie Valley fishing Salmon and Steelhead and was a guide on the Nushagak River in Alaska.

Paul Marander

Paul is General Manager for Outdoor Emporium in Seattle.  Paul has spent many years in management in the marine trade industry.  Paul brings to our seminar many years of experience in the boating arena.

Anton Jones

Anton is the co-owner of Darrell & Dad's Family Guide Service on Lake Chelan. He will teach techniques and locations for catching deep water Mackinaw and Kokanee on Lake Chelan and how to catch the trophy triploid Rainbows and jumbo Kokanee on Rufus Woods Reservoir.

Pre-registration is required

Space is limited and there will be no registration at the door the day of the class.  The cost for the class is $150.00 for both days and $88.00 for Saturday only.  The Saturday class is a prerequisite for the Sunday class.   These classes have sold out for the past 5 years so early registration is advised to guarantee your seat. 

Tackle and equipment will be given away during the stage seminars as door prizes. Industry representatives will be on hand to demonstrate the latest in new fishing tackle during the breaks and between seminars.  There will also be several professionally rigged salmon boats on display.

Up Close and Personal

 

Saturday evening, March 24th, Salmon University will sponsor a get-together at the Hilton Meeting Room at the Hilton Garden Inn in Renton.   This get-together will give all students an opportunity to personally meet and visit with the instructors and your fellow students.  It’s proven a great time to make those critical contacts with fellow anglers before the summer season starts. There will be a no-host bar.
