Hi John,

I LOVE THIS SITE!! I'm addicted to the reports and have read everything on the site. Terrible to admit but some things I have read multiple times. I hooked and brought to the boat a 30-40 lb'er last year at the John's river thanks to your information. Caught a nice one in the Juan's thanks to Tom this summer. Also, have had great luck at Pt. Defiance this year. My son helped land a nice one. He is now hooked.

Took my little brother and he landed four!!! He is now hooked!! We have boated 17 kings since I found your site last spring, got a boat and mounted it with Scotties. Have yet to catch a silver? Maybe in a few weeks. When my son is a little older we are going to take your class. He says he doesn't like school, maybe this will change his mind. :-)

Anyways, I had a question about Chambers Creek. I am planning on in trying it out this weekend. Your article says they start to show the first week in august. I was wondering how long the fish "usually" are around. I realize that there are many factors but normally how late is it worth it to head down and fish? I went down there and checked out the launch last week and talked to a local who said that the natives are catching some fish up the creek. Also, does it matter what size bait to use? Fresh or frozen?

Take care and thanks.

Sean

Hi Sean,
I would give it a shot early in the morning, if you don't produce head up to Pt. Defiance or the mouth of the Puyallup river as there are still lots of kings around. The main run is running a little late this year. I like to slow troll a green label herring behind a fish flash for tackle at Chambers. To find out how to brine your herring, check out our new herring brining page here.
Good luck,
Capt. John
