Lowrance Sonar/GPS

Compact, Combination Sounder/Plotter

It's hard to believe that anyone could put this array of features in a compact case that will fit virtually anywhere. Lowrance did it with the M68C and the M5M Sonar/GPS Mapping Combos. These high performance, affordable units offer remarkable fishfinding and plotting capabilities and a choice of displays.

The M56M has a 4" diagonal, high contrast Film Super-Twist LCD with 4 levels of gray scale. The M68C offers a 3.5" diagonal, 256 color, active matrix TFT display. Both deliver excellent detail, even in direct sunlight. This simplified keypad is a snap to use and is backlit for night and low light conditions.

As a chart plotter, both of these units use an advanced, internal GPS/WASS receiver antenna positions you on a special, built-in, high-detailed hydrographic map. This mapping of lakes, rivers, Great Lakes and US coastal waters comes complete with Nav aids.

As a fishfinder the 100 Watt RMS, low profile transom mounted 200kHz transducer generates an accurate return up to 600 feet deep. The transducer has a built in-in surface temp sensor and will operate at speeds up to 70 MPH. The M56M uses Lowrance's patented Grayline feature that separates fish and structure from the bottom returns. The M68C upgrades this feature with an exclusive full-screen, full color digital LCD flasher display with Colorline. The attractive space-saving case design offers an adjustable tilt, quick-mount / release convenience, and fast connect / disconnect cable. Quickly unplug it at the end of a days fishing and stow it safe and secure.

The SU Staff has seen both of these units in action and rates them "Excellent" for small compact Sonar/GPS units. These can be employed in almost any mounting situation and even make a great second unit for the stern of the boat mounted close to the action. Both units measure 5.8"H x 4.3"W x 2.5" D.
