Lowrance LCX-111C HD & LowranceNET
System
The
First came the selection and the building of the LowranceNET systems
we want to use in the boats. We wanted both units to share the same GPS information,
fuel tank level, water speed and fuel flow date to both units. We went to
the LowranceNET designer web page http://www.lowrance.com/LowranceNet/LowranceNet.asp
and built our system on line and
verified
Approved the system was assemble correctly for the type system we desired
in the SU boats.

Next came the installation.
We picked the LCX111C HD units to
upgrade our current LCX104C units.

LCX111C HD
Lowrance has completely
redone their successful LCX series with enhanced screen performance and even
faster processors. These big bold screens are available in three sizes of
bright sunlight readable color or an economical 16 grayscale version in all the
models feature brilliant cold cathode backlighting. No matter which screen you choose Lowrance provides
a high-resolution display to perform in the toughest conditions. These chart
plotters include a 12 parallel channel GPS/WAAS receiver or position accuracy
to 3 meters. They have all navigation features you expect including alarms;
graphic icons; 37 Map Ranges from .05 nautical miles to 4000 nautical miles;
1000 waypoints; 100 routes in up to 100 way points each and 10,000 points of
track. Lowrance provides more mapping choices with built in base maps optional
mapping Accessory pack for creating custom maps on your PC, compatibility with
Navionics XL3 Gold or Platinum XL hot maps. Our
HD models came with a built-in 20GB internal hard drive preloaded with
all the charts you could ever need for coastal and inland navigation in the
continental US including enhanced shorelines, navaids, depth contours, roads,
and 2 million points of interest.
But best of all is the
powerful sonar. The sonar features of this unit are impressive and include fish
reveal to show fish hidden by surface clutter; thermo cline’s or weed beds;
Hyper Scroll to locate display returns at high speed; adjustable ping speed;
Colorline technology that separates fish from bottom structure; ASP automatic
operation; advance fish ID; and unique FastTrack feature displays flasher
style returns and signal strength in a vertical line; split screen frame zooms
in on targets and structure in one window and still monitors the entire were
water column in the other. Our models
came with a duel 50/200KHz frequency high-speed transom mount transducers. The
LCX series accepts up to two optional multimedia cards that are not only offer
the capability record; store or review waypoints routes and tracks but to
actually record your voyages and sonar graphs for later viewing. This kind of
innovative thinking has created one of the best most versatile lines in the
industry.

Clean Power is run from battery to dash
and LCX111C HD unit power cables are wired in completing install

Boat is water tested for proper operation.
The bottom depth will now read in 600ft of water at 30MPH cruise speed. Both
LCX11C HD units share, GPS readings, fuel flow, water speed, and Digital depth
from the LowranceNET system.
